We offer 3 different Tenant Protection plans so you can find the perfect balance between coverage and affordability.

There is a $100 per-claim deductible for all protection plans. This deductible is waived for burglary claims when a cylinder or disc padlock is used.
How To Store Your Property

Please do not store any of the items listed in the Not Protected section.

Place boxes on shelves, pallets, skids, or 2' x 4's.

Store electronics in the rear of the unit.

Keep an inventory of your stored items and take photographs.
-
Cover your property with drop cloths or plastic covers.

Always lock your unit with a cylinder or disc padlock.
Protected Against
All items in your unit, except property listed as Not Protected, are protected from loss due to:
Fire or lightning •
Burglary - forced entry •
Explosion & sonic boom •
Windstorm or hail •
Aircraft or vehicles •
Riot or civil commotion •
Vandalism •
Sinkhole collapse •
Falling objects •
Weight of snow, ice, or sleet •
Limited water damage •
Earthquake •
Damage to stored vehicle •
Rodent and vermin (up to $500) •
Not Protected
Do not store any of these items. The SafeLease backed Protection Plan will not protect against these losses:

Accounts, bills, currency, data, documents, records, deeds, evidences of debt, money, notes, securities, or stamps

Animals, birds, or fish

Aircraft
-
Firearms
-
Furs, fur garments, and garments trimmed with fur

Valuable papers and records, including those which exist as electronic data and photographs

Jewelry, watches, precious or semiprecious stones, bullion, gold, goldware, gold plated ware, silver, silverware, platinum, or other precious metals or alloys, and photographic equipment

Contraband or other property held for, or in the course of, illegal transportation, sale, or trade

Create an account or log in and follow the steps to file a claim

Report any break-ins to the local police

Take as many photos of the situation as you can

Please Note:
Participation in any SafeLease backed Protection Plan is not required to rent storage space. The plan may duplicate coverage that may be provided by a homeowner's or renter's insurance policy. You may cancel your participation in a SafeLease backed Protection Plan at any time.

Opt-Out of Tenant Protection
If you do not want to use any of our Tenant Protectin plans you can opt out and use your own Homeowner's or Renter's Insurance policies to cover your stored goods while renting with us. Be sure to check your policy or check with your agent to ensure that your policy covers offsite storage of your property. Auto Insurance policies will not satisfy this. If you decide to use your own policy, you will be responsible for keeping your insurance information accurate and up to date.
